with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. It is for all staff who work with individuals who challenge. • The course will cover the following areas:- • The whole person approach – including:- structuring the day, management of the environment & why do individuals challenge. • Recognising behavioural cues. • Positive behaviour support. • The importance of communication. • Legal / Health and Safety issues. • Calming techniques. • Physical Intervention Practical.) • External Fire Training* • Medication* • Mental Capacity Act (MCA) /Deprivation of Liberty (DOLs)* • Epilepsy* • Diabetes* • Training towards obtaining The Care Certificate • * Mandatory courses by law or by GLSH as an organisation
