16 PLUS ACCOMMODATION AND SUPPORT
GLSH provides safe person centred service to all Service Users.
The
team
delivers
personalised
support
for
each
young
person,
treating
everyone
as
an
individual
with
their
own
background,
experience
and
ambitions.
Our
accommodation
provides
a
safe
and
comfortable
environment,
operating
a
robust
on-call
system
with
24-
hour
key
worker
access.
Each
young
person
has
their own agreed support plan based on their needs.
Our
supported
living
service
has
the
resources
to
support
and
encourage
academic
development.
We
promote
positive
links
with
local
Further
education
colleges, employment and training providers.
We support the young people get back to education, training and move on to secure employment.
Living
facilities
are
comfortable,
decorated
to
a
high
standard
and
designed
to
promote
increased
independence.
All
residents
are
able
to
choose
their
own
decor and have their own private bedrooms with shared bathrooms. There will also be shared living areas and hallways.
All homes have large kitchens, living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen/ diner
LEARNING DISABILITY and AUTISM (18 – 65 YRS)
GLSH

disabilities

learning,
physical,

complex

young
people

We
focus
on

centred
packages
of
care
that
maximise
independence,
autonomy
and

of

offer
Supportive
Living
services
and
community
support
packages
of
care
across
the
wider
group.We
support
people
with
substance
misuse
issues,
mental
health conditions, learning disability and offending behaviour.
We provide expert tailored support and care for people aged 18 or over with mild, moderate or severe disabilities, including:

Develop or regain independent living skills e.g. cooking, shopping and household tasks.

Identify and apply for suitable move-on accommodation.
•
Build motivation, confidence and self-esteem.
•
Manage personal finances including claiming benefits, budget planning, paying bills and developing money management skills.
•
Access education, training, volunteering or employment.
•
Live a full and active life in the local community.
Emotional

support
can
be
provided
by
our
positive
behaviour
support
team
who
are
very
much
‘hands
on’
and
accessible
to
the
people
we
support. We also work closely with the local Community Mental Health Teams.
